QiQee Designs Fashion Show

From a young age, Kidde Itto’s parents knew their child would become an artist. At the age of 9, Kidde had started picking out her own outfits, refusing her mother’s assistance. Upon migrating to Canada, Kidde was enrolled in sewing classes in High School and made it a goal to advance in the craft by staying late after School. Powered by a lot of support from her High School and getting a taste of the fashion industry at the Montreal Fashion week in 2009, Kidde birthed her label QiQee in 2012. A brand that was and is established to bring about beauty, elegance, modesty, and art in every design. However, before QiQee was established in 2012, Kidde was granted funding from Okidome. She was able to attend Fashion School from 2007 to 2009 at UFV, and of course as predicted by family and friends, many accomplishments followed her. By the age of 18, Kidde was elected as the top 25 National Finalist to compete on Telio. After the inauguration of QiQee, as an emerging designer, Kidde placed second at Western Fashion Week. During the following year in 2013, QiQee showcased her first line at the Vancouver Fashion Week.

In 2016 QiQee was elected by New American Ecommerce, through this QiQee attended an event in Las Vegas in November 2017 making QiQee one of two Canadians represented there. July 2018 presented QiQee with an opportunity for its own independent show in Abbotsford. Since then, QiQee participated and showcased at smaller shows throughout the year; these experiences allowed Kidde to apply to represent QiQee in Paris. Being able to showcase in Paris would be a huge step for QiQee because the organization only selects ten Global Designers. Flying Solo selected QiQee and not only will QiQee make it to Paris, New York has been included as well; which will take place during the month of September 2019.

This independent fashion show is a fundraiser to financially help Kidde’s trip. The Abbotsford show will take place at the University of the Fraser Valley, Saturday August 24, 2019, doors open 6:30 PM, show starts 7:00 PM- 9:00 PM.

Weird Al Yankovic: Strings Attached Tour

“Weird Al” Yankovic is the biggest-selling comedy recording artist in history, earning four Grammys and fifteen career nominations.  The legendary musical satirist follows his sold-out 2018 tour of intimate venues – where he played deep cuts for his hardcore fans – with his biggest show ever.  Weird Al is back to playing the hits and classics with his Strings Attached tour, a high-energy rock and comedy production featuring his original band, costumes, props, a video wall and – for the first time – background singers and a full symphony orchestra.

“Weird Al” Yankovic is best known for sending up the biggest hits in the world with his own hit parodies, including “Eat It,” “Like A Surgeon,” “Smells Like Nirvana,” “Amish Paradise,” “White & Nerdy,” and “Word Crimes.”  Yankovic’s last album, 2014’s Mandatory Fun, made history as the first comedy album ever to debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.
