CIVL will also be present at Jam in Jubilee, a month long series of free concerts in Historic Downtown Abbotsford’s Jubilee Park; running every Thursday evening from 6 till 10. And for only the second year, CIVL will be hosting the After-Dark portion of the Jam at Townhall, just across the road, from 10 to 11. Also check out Jam in Jubilee Radio every Thursday from 5 to 6.

The Jam kicks off July 9th but get a taste of what’s to come by checking out a few other free concerts: like Sup at the Park, coming up June 30th featuring music from the likes of Kin (Abbotsford, BC), Fountain (Victoria, BC), Mauno (Halifax, NS), The Dories (Montreal, QC), Whoop-Szo (Guelph, ON) and outgoing CKDU, Dalhousie Station Coordinator, Gianna Lauren (Halifax, NS) in full band form! Hosted at the Kariton Art Gallery from 6 to 10 that evening. All bands will also be performing at the legendary Sled Island Music Festival in Calgary in the very near future.

If that doesn’t fill your “Free Concert in the Park” jollies then check-out the on-going Envision series, which now moves from the Coffeehouses of  Abbotsford to Mill Lake, starting this week! Every Saturday afternoon from 4 to 7:30 stop by the Kariton Art Gallery at Mill Lake Park to take in some excellent music including Western Jaguar, Brennan Sinclair and Petrichor on August 8th, the top 3 from the #CIVLUFV Battle! CIVL will also be hosting Envision Radio with Dave Farmer, every Thursday from 6 to 6:30.

Ken Herar has been called a “Champion of Diversity” from Abbotsford Community Services, works as a multi-cultural columnist for the Abbotsford Times.

Now Ken has initiated a proclamation from former Attorney General and current Health Minister Mike de Jong on behalf of the Province of British Columbia Air Jordan XX9 Retro, recognizing the efforts of the Cycling for Diversity campaign to unite our diverse communities.

The campaign took a group of riders from Mission to Victoria, BC in order to promote inclusive dialogue in the region, honouring the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, and had already encouraged the District of Mission to proclaim annual recognition of the day when the Province made this recent presentation at The Reach.
